Simon G. / Fields / Agriculture

The planning and risk desk of a farm group.

For groups of several farms and several thousand hectares: the plan, the result per field, crop and farm, the hedging and insurance decisions, the land bank, and the report your bank asks for. Prepared every night. Signed by the people you name. On your own servers.

The demo shows a fictional group of four farms in Romania, and a 10,400-acre farm in Iowa on the same screens, in acres, bushels and dollars.

Crop plan and multi-year plan

What to plant where, this year and the next five, with the result of each choice.

The plan is built per field from your own yields, costs and the prices you can actually sell at. Rotation rules, irrigation and storage are constraints, not afterthoughts. Orchards and berries sit beside the arable crops with their own years to bearing.

  • Result per field, crop and farm, at plan, forward and spot prices
  • A plan frozen under four eyes, with every change recorded
  • Machinery, labour and storage checked against the plan's peaks

Hedging, insurance and the risk register

How much to sell forward, what to insure, and what it costs to be wrong.

The exposure is computed from the plan: tonnes expected, tonnes already sold, the currency of each contract. Simon G. proposes the next forward or futures tranche inside the limit the board signed, keeps the margin calls in the cash forecast, and puts the insurance decision in money: the premium against the probability of a loss above your threshold.

  • Forwards with traders, futures and options through a broker, currency forwards with the bank
  • Input-side cover for fertiliser and diesel when the plan is frozen
  • A risk register in money, reviewed monthly, with an owner per line

Land bank and leases

Two thousand lease contracts, their expiries and the rent you can afford.

Every contract with its landowner, area, rent in cash or in kind, expiry and payment date. Simon G. flags the blocks at risk, the contracts with unresolved succession, and proposes the renewal order with the rent each field can carry from its own result.

  • Expiry calendar by year and block, with the area at risk
  • Rent paid in kind valued at the day's price, in the cash forecast
  • The renewal decision per block, with its owner and limit

For the bank and the board

The covenant test before the bank runs it, and the ESG report they now ask for.

Consolidated across the group's companies, with the eliminations done. Debt service cover and net debt to EBITDA tested at plan and at each scenario. Carbon per tonne and per hectare, water and soil cover, from the data the plan already holds, printed in a form a bank can read.

  • Consolidation with statements and notes, exported in one step
  • Covenants tested monthly, not once a year
  • ESG report for sustainability-linked lending, with the inputs it could not derive marked as such

What we read, so you prepare nothing

Files you already have. We take them ourselves.

  1. Fields and parcelsYour subsidy-agency parcel list, or the export from the farm software you use.
  2. The booksTrial balance per company from your accounting system, and bank statements.
  3. ContractsLeases, forward sales and insurance policies, from a spreadsheet if that is where they live.
  4. Yields, costs and pricesYour last three seasons. Market references come with Simon G., or from the sources you already pay for.

No implementation project on your side. We read these with your office beside us, set Simon G. up for your group, and it runs on your server with no internet connection. Your data is shared with no one, not even through a chatbot.

What it does not do

Plainly.

  1. It does not do agronomy.Variable-rate maps, telemetry and imaging come from the tools you already use; Simon G. reads their results.
  2. It does not trade. It proposes the tranche; a named person places the order with the trader or broker.
  3. It does not replace the accountant. It reads the books and consolidates; it does not post entries.
  4. It does not promise the weather.Scenarios use your history and public references; the probability of a bad year is shown with its source.

Four fictional farms, 9,587 hectares, every screen live. Ask for access and we send an account within one working day, with a ten-task script that takes forty minutes.

Working figure for a group: per hectare per year, said in the first conversation. How the pilot works.

Accounts expire after thirty days. The demo holds no real company's data.
